Busy times. Turns out my nanofibers class is for seniors and grads, so I'm gonna go talk to the professor and see if that's ok or if I can maybe do research instead (might even be better!).

Saturday, I had the two orchestra rehearsals. In the morning one, they were having a parents' meeting with the conductor and it ran long, so when all of us got back from break we were just sitting in our chairs waiting. Everyone decided that they wanted to play Star Wars together, so they did - and I conducted :D It hadn't really been organized before that and the concertmaster, Ben, wouldn't go up and do it, so I stood up, asked for a part and went. Everybody managed to stay together and seemed to enjoy it. The actual conductor came up beside me and held out his hand for the baton with an unmarked expression on his face (erm...), but when I went to go sit back down he offered an applause. So, suffice to say, glad I did it. Glad I had the guts to do it. It's worse than public speaking because ALL eyes are on you and any mistake in your rhythm with throw the entire orchestral body off. Your heart is racing so your internal rhythm is off and your arms get wild from shaking. And I did throw off the orchestra, but everybody was really nice about it.
